Just nine days old. Pure sweetness. This serene bundle of pink is welcomed by mom, dad, and her two very proud big brothers. Congratulations to you all and to a mom I know will adore getting to put pink ribbons in her daughter's hair :)
Looking to frame and display your session photos with style AND ease? Take a peek at Pottery Barn's new "Gallery in a Box." I came across this today while browsing to frame my own family photos and loved it! Choose from white, espresso brown, or black frames to suit your decor. Combine two gallery sets and make a real statement piece. Frame a corner around a breakfast nook or similar cozy corner of your home or arrange like the Pottery Barn photos in this post. The Gallery in a Box sets come with templates to do so!
Today's post is Part II after this beautiful maternity session. Mom, Dad and the two brothers are now settling in nicely together as a unit of 4. It is always wonderful to get to meet the new arrival following a maternity session. As always, I thank everyone for allowing me to share their happiness as I document their special moments and family lives.
You might recognize this trio of sisters from their first session with me here. Today's post is from their latest session that was held pre-holidays.
I just love the sweetness of these images and how they will enjoy looking back on these photos when they're all grown up. I also couldn't resist including this photo of their oldest sibling by the blooming November flowers. Thank you again for a lovely morning session!
Check out Babyology for a great review of my photography training app for iPad called Portrait Classroom. Their review titled, “Portrait photography is a snap with an iPad app” concludes that the app is “Perfect for parents, amateurs and those wanting to shift their camera out of ‘automatic’ mode and get a little creative. Portrait Classroom will provide you with loads of skills and tips.”
So... if you haven't taken a peek yet get to it or let your iPad loving friends know. We are also anticipating the launch of the iPhone version of the app this month!

Another fabulous family and session from the recent holiday season in today's post. These two brothers were both sweethearts though I'm sure they'll have plenty of rough and tumble play ahead of them! We had the good fortune of a sunny and warm day late in the year which made for a great afternoon session in the photos below...
A few posts now catching up on holiday sessions from the last couple months. This first session was held at San Francisco's often foggy but always dreamy Baker Beach. Here are some of my favorites...
Two years. How to photograph it and what changes take place in that time?
Below are photos taken exactly two years apart of my girls in the same spot. My two girls are also two years apart in age. In the first photo they are 2 years old and newborn and in the second photo they are 4 and 2 years old. We all know they grow up quickly but there is no denying just how quickly that is in this series. This is a project you can do yourself. Take a photo of your loved ones, pets, trees in your yard or local environment in each season, whatever it may be in the same spot over a period of time. You will photographically mark the progression of time and likely have a zen-like thought or two along the way.
Happy New Year to all and thank you for another wonderful year! And, stay tuned as I will be catching up on blog posts from the busy holiday season early in 2011.
This post is Part II from this session. In addition to the beautiful photos on location in their home, we took some shots also in their home using the same window light with my portable backdrop set up. It simply consists of a light weight backdrop stand, clips and a black backdrop. I can set this up in almost any room at a client's home that receives at least a decent amount of window light. The look is similar to what you would get with a softbox and expensive lighting set up, yet it is quick to set up, light weight and low cost.
Here are the portraits we created. For the client, this adds a completely different look and feel to their main set of session images - basically like having two sessions in one!
I love the images from this session last weekend. Lovely family with a toddler boy who has the bluest of blue eyes and is definitely ready to play with his soon-to-be sibling :) This session was at the client's home with beautiful natural light from their large north and west facing windows.
During this same session we also took photos with my portable backdrop and stands. Look for a post with those images in the next day or so.
I also want to say thank you to my clients who let me share in a bit of their lives and take photos for them of their memorable events and growing families. It means a lot to me and I appreciate each of you!
